A Holistic Path to Ancestral Connection, Healing, and Grief

Our connection to our ancestors can influence how we understand ourselves, our families, our spiritual practices, and the experiences we carry forward. Awakening Ancestral Memory is a five-week guided journey created to help you intentionally explore that connection and develop a meaningful relationship with your ancestral lineage.

This workshop brings together ancestral spirituality, reflective practice, ritual, grief exploration, and personal integration to create a holistic approach to ancestral connection and healing.

Whether you are beginning ancestral work for the first time or seeking to deepen an existing practice, you will be guided through foundational concepts and practices that help you understand who the ancestors are, explore your own ancestral lineage, create sacred space for connection, and develop practices for honoring and communicating with your ancestors.

A Five-Week Journey

Week 1 — Understanding the Ancestors & Ancestral Council

We begin by establishing the foundations of ancestral work. You will explore who the ancestors are, the concept of the Ancestral Council, and metaphysical and cultural perspectives on ancestral connection. Guided reflection and worksheets will help you begin identifying your ancestral lineage and the areas of ancestral work that may be calling for your attention.

Week 2 — Building & Maintaining the Ancestral Altar

Learn how to intentionally create and care for an ancestral altar as a sacred point of connection. We will explore altar foundations, offerings, feeding and empowering the ancestors, and practices for maintaining an ongoing ancestral relationship.

Week 3 — Ancestral Purification & Communication

Explore ancestral purification practices and the foundations of ancestral communication. This week focuses on creating greater intentionality around how you speak, listen, connect, and cultivate your relationship with your ancestors.

Week 4 — A Holistic Exploration of Grief

Ancestral connection can also bring us into deeper relationship with grief. Together, we will explore the emotional experience of grief, ways of creating intentional space to grieve, and the Grieve, Release, Renew Method as a framework for moving through grief with awareness and care.

Week 5 — Integration & Moving Forward

Our final week brings the journey together. You will reflect on your workshop experience, integrate the ancestral practices and insights you have developed, identify your next steps, and explore ways to continue ancestral work and healing beyond the workshop. We will also discuss recognizing when grief may require additional support or professional counseling and how to move forward while honoring both what has been lost and what remains.

Continuing the Work

Awakening Ancestral Memory is designed to give you a foundation for developing an ancestral practice that can continue long after the five weeks are complete. You do not need to know your entire family history or already have experience with ancestral work to participate. The workshop provides a starting point for exploring your lineage, developing your own practices, and understanding how ancestral connection, grief, remembrance, and healing may intersect in your life.

The goal is not to tell you what your relationship with your ancestors should look like, but to give you tools, practices, and space to begin discovering what that relationship means for you.
